Gilmore girls, created by Amy Sherman-Palladino, is a
drama/comedy about, you guessed it, the "Gilmore" girls. Lorelai Victoria Gilmore, daughter of Richard and Emily Gilmore,
is and has always been rebellious to her parents rich way of living. When she was 16, she became pregnant with the next Lorelai,
a.k.a. Rory (full name Lorelai Leigh Gilmore), Christopher being the father. With baby Rory in hands, she ran away from "home"
and marched up to the Dragonfly Inn, demanding a Job. Mia, the owner at the time, not only gave her a job, but a small tool
shed in the back to live in. Later on, Lorelai bought a house for her and Rory in Starshollow (a small town in Connecticuit),
and have been living there ever since.
Because of their slim age difference and lifestyle, Rory
and Lorelai are more of best friends than mother and daughter. When Rory was around 16, she transferred from Starshollow High
over to Chilton High School, in order to fulfill her dream to attend Harvard and become a journalist. Lane, a very good friend
of Rory’s since Kindergarten, attended Starshollow High at the time, and was sad to see Rory leave, but still met up
with her on the weekends, when her strict mother would let her, that is.
After graduating Chilton as Valedictorian, Rory travels
off to Yale (she changed her mind about Harvard) and finds, to her surprise, that one of her old Chilton classmates, Paris,
is one of her roommates. Even thought they didn’t exactly see eye-to-eye over the years at Chilton, during college they
became quite close.
